🍕 Inclusive Evaluation – Cara de Mau Pizzeria (Gramado/RS)
Personal experience report for the Autistics Around the World
A few years ago we decided to get to know the Bad Face themed pizzeria, in Gramado/RS — located on land that once belonged to my great-grandparents. The theme pirates 🏴☠️ It caught attention and the setting was reminiscent of a ship, with lots of decoration, costumed characters and even pyrotechnic effects ✨.
💸 Price & Operation
- Price at the time: R$ 250 per person (we consider it high for what was offered).
- Reservation required with fixed hours Prohibited and exit.
- Limited rotation time: just 2 hours.
- Immediate closure: at the end of 2 hours, pizzas simply stop circulating, even if the client is still in the salon.
🍽️ Service, care and food
- Upon arrival, they only served drinks 🍹 for a long time, increasing the wait for the pizza.
- The waiters and characters constantly used swear words 😬 and they did double meaning jokes as part of the experience.
- Considering the price, the pizzas left something to be desired: after all the waiting, the first one was just mozzarella 🧀.
- During the 2 hours, we didn't really get any flavor "special".
- The service was frequently interrupted by little dances 💃🕺 (including funk) and more swearing, reducing the useful time for eating.
🧩 Sensory Accessibility & Inclusion
The Dawn got scared 😢 with the loud noise, you swearing and some obscene dances. For families with children 👶, autistic people 🧩 and people with disabilities ♿, the environment can be quite hostile and sensory overloaded.
- High noise 🔊 (music, screams and pyrotechnic effects).
- Inappropriate language 🗯️ used constantly.
- Frequent interruptions in service for performances.
- Time pressure ⏳ by the fixed limit of 2h.
🎶 Pocket show final
In closing, there is a small pocket show with the “pirate captain”. The show has beautiful music 🎵 and is a more enjoyable moment, but does not compensate for the negative points experienced during the rotation.
⚖️ Conclusion
Despite the immersive decor and fun proposal, the experience was exhausting. The high cost (R$ 250 per person at the time), the strict 2h limit and the fact that stop serving pizzas after that time completely took the shine off the visit.
That's why, we do not recommend to children, autistic people and people with disabilities, mainly due to the sensory aspects, language and dynamics of the service. 👉 If you are looking for a more welcoming and inclusive, also check out our review of Lugano World in Gramado .
